Joe Banks Harvey
November 2, 1933 – August 29, 2017
Joe Banks Harvey was born in Hood River, Oregon on Nov. 2, 1933. He passed away at his home in Canby on August 29th. He was 83. The son of Banks Pete and Martha (Pass) Harvey. Joe served in the US Army. Following discharge, he worked at the race tracks as an exercise rider and assistant trainer. He worked for many years in the local sawmills and raised running quarter horses and cattle. He loved hunting with his dogs, cowboying, game hunting and fishing. He wanted everyone to know he lived his life the way he wanted. He was preceded in death by his son, Edward Banks Harvey. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn; son, Craig Harvey; daughter, Barbara Brink; sister, Donna Lawless; brother, Robert Harvey; granddaughter, Shellie Nagy; and two great grandchildren. A Potluck Celebration of Life will be Sat. Sept. 16th at 1:00 pm at Molalla Moose Lodge. Private interment will be held with military honors at Zion Memorial Cemetery, Canby.
